Hydroxymethyl propyl cellulose is a white or off-white powder made from high-purity cotton cellulose through a special etherification process under alkaline conditions. It can be dissolved in cold water to form a transparent viscous solution.
It is widely use in many fields like the following
1. Cement mortar: improve the dispersibility of cement-sand, greatly improve the plasticity and water retention of mortar, have an effect on preventing cracks, and can enhance the strength of cement.
2. Ceramic tile cement: improve the plasticity and water retention of pressed ceramic tile mortar, improve the adhesiveness of ceramic tiles, and prevent powdering.
3. Coating of refractory materials such as asbestos: as a suspension agent and fluidity improver, Hydroxymethyl propyl cellulose also improves the adhesiveness to the substrate.
4.Gypsum concrete slurry: improves water retention and processability, and increases adhesion to the substrate.
